My heart belongs to Babs!

Come on, ladies, who can hold a candle to the coach of my beloved Maple Leafs?

San Jose Sharks v Detroit Red Wings

He has that rugged look that makes my heart go a-flutter! I haven’t felt like this since Darcy Tucker winked at me back in ’94! Swooon!

Now, just have to find a way to get rid of his wife!

AS always, GO LEAFS GO!

Lets not forget this letter Stevie wrote!
September 9, 2004

Her Excellency the Right Honourable Adrienne Clarkson, C.C., C.M.M., C.O.M., C.D.
Governor General
Rideau Hall
1 Sussex Drive
Ottawa, Ontario
K1A 0A1

Excellency,

As leaders of the opposition parties, we are well aware that, given the Liberal minority government, you could be asked by the Prime Minister to dissolve the 38th Parliament at any time should the House of Commons fail to support some part of the government’s program.

We respectfully point out that the opposition parties, who together constitute a majority in the House, have been in close consultation. We believe that, should a request for dissolution arise this should give you cause, as constitutional practice has determined, to consult the opposition leaders and consider all of your options before exercising your constitutional authority.

Your attention to this matter is appreciated.

Sincerely, Hon. Stephen Harper, P.C., M.P. Leader of the Opposition Leader of the Conservative Party of Canada

Gilles Duceppe, M.P. Leader of the Bloc Quebecois

Jack Layton, M.P. Leader of the New Democratic Party

Westerners are advocating separation!

•December 3, 2008 • Leave a Comment

Man. Nothing like a political crisis to bring out the wackos, eh?

So – let me get this straight – it is OK to advocate separation in one part of the country but seditious to do so in another part?

Ha! And some dare to label us as traitors!

Harper is destroying this nation while we are watching.

On Newsworld, Tony Clement just implied that the Bloq was not a democratically elected party.

They’re digging deeper and deeper…

It IS democratic – dammit!

Cons are scared!

Wanted: adults to run the country

•November 30, 2008 • Leave a Comment

At a time when there should be a unified and concerted focus on the economic crisis, the Harper government instead opted for partisanship and ideology. In making the political party issue a central part of last week’s economic update, they practically spat in the face of the opposition and dared them to do something about it. This is not that unusual for them considering the Cons are known for reverting to schoolyard bullying whenever it suits their purposes.

But this pundit – though never an admirer of Harper and his merry gang of Harris-era cronies – really did think that given the uncertainties of these times, that they would put aside politics for a while and focus on sound economic management and a well thought out stimulus package.

Nope. No siree-bob.

So what now? Ghosts of Dippers and Grits past have emerged as power-brokers in an attempt to oust the Cons on a confidence motion. Stevie has delayed the first motion until next week so he could bide some time. Normally, I would think that the Cons would put together a completely new package and avoid a constitutional crisis. But, although the government has taken the party funding issue off the table for the time being, the Grits and Dippers are still talking coalition. They see this as a prime opportunity to take down the Harperites and under our political system they do have every right to do so.

But should they? Political stability would be the preferred option in these times but Harper did bring this on himself. He just couldn’t pull back from his bully role.Even when the times dictated that he rise above it and show Canadians that he could be a real leader. It is said that a crisis brings out these leaders. If that is true, then Harper has failed his country, his party and himself.

And he should pay for that.

Harper blinked!

The Cons won’t include the party financing provision as part of Monday’s confidence motion! The talk of a Dipper and Grit coalition has scared the bejeebers outta the ReformCons and they changed their tact.

I say – form the coalition anyway and throw the bums outta power!
